Ciel 2 Tracking

no changes in signal strength here in Oregon, everything is the same as yesterday

Same here in WA State. Maybe this is the calm before the storm. All I know is we still can't get Fisher, ;) boycott them if they do not provide OTA to your area.

Perhaps DISH will wait till after the Super Bowl (for the locals) since the LA and Chicago locals are involved. The suspense is killer... ... :hungry: for Ciel 2

BTW I heard this last night, but have not confirmed it.

And that is the bird has not been released to Dish yet for use. It is still in testing bu CEIL / Americom.

I think we keep forgetting that Dish is not driving this bird, they are just a paying passenger. :)

Not what I wanted to hear but oh well. We've waited this long, what's a few more days or weeks or..... Nah :)

If they aren't zapping subs for the higher rates until the March forward billing (billing in Feb for Mar service), I doubt the folks at E* are in any great rush. They will have lost subs in January for not having HD to local markets in time for the Super Bowl, but after that, subs will calm down. They won't get the lost subs back anyway by adding HD so that's water over the dam. I don't know how the Dish billing system is set up but that would be a hint as to a drop dead date for getting new HD up. My bill is by calendar month so my 1/16 bill has the forward billing for the month of Feb. The bill is dated 1/16. For me, the 2/16 bill will be the one with the increased rates. If everyone is billed on the same cycle and I don't know that they are, Feb 16 would seem to be a drop dead date for adding some more HD.

February 1 is still very important to Dish. That's the day ATT starts selling Directv instead of Dish.

I for one am certainly interested in what kind of consolidation deal I can get from ATT (I have Dish and ATT separately now). I am sure I am not alone. Dish even sent me a deal that essentially said if I signed on for two more years that I would get some Free stuff (one of the offers was three free months of everything, and there were others).

So I am sure Dish is aware of the importance of Groundhog day.

I just want a normal signal from 129 so I can get rid of the second dish. I know people that can't get a better signal on 129 and can't receive all the HD channels they pay for because of this. Ciel 2 should change all that, hopefully soon.

Referencing Scott's post, I wonder if Dish will do a quickie news release when the sat. is turned over to them for activation? Dish might consider that newsworthy and put out a pretty good PR blurb, especially if they are going to try to add coverage of the super bowl in HD in some areas.
