This is not new - I installed the original D300 pointed to 119 on the 2x6 post in 1998, then an installer (great guy, great job!) replaced that with the D500 and remounted the D300 (lower appearing one in this picture) and aimed it to 61.5 in Dec. '05. There were no leaves on the trees then and it was after dark so he could sense there might be a problem but wasn't sure. We gave it a try anyway - and lucked-out...!

I have good (not great) SS on 61.5 (typically 90s on the 622) and never have any drop-outs except during or just preceeding very heavy precipitation.

Thought you might get a chuckle out of this one...!

BRgds...

What's your elevation for 61.5 in your area? Remember that the satellite signals comes in 22 degrees higher than where the dish is pointing at. I would say that you barely clear those branches to the left and to the right.

90s is about right for 61.5 so to me that installer did a great job.

Not sure - I'll check. The foliage on the right goes considerably higher than what's in the picture (100+ ft. red oak!). Eventually the stuff on the left will as well. What's in the middle has a date with the chainsaw...

I guess about 37-38 degrees :) Your clearing it by a long shot. :up

We have to shoot gaps like that all the time in southern ohio to hit the 129. Good call on the installers part. 61.5 here sits about 39 degrees elevation, so it should be fine.
