BET will introduce a new channel called Centric which will launch in the fourth quarter of 2009. The target audience will be a bit different from the parent channel as it will target adults 25-54 and replace BET J.
BET Networks is looking be “focused on and central to the African-American adult experience” per BETN president and COO Scott Mills. It will offer original programming and some carry over of what will then be the old BET J.
