An unusual late-night band opening, heard CB stations from Illinois, then checked 10m beacon band, heard N8PVL, KQ9V, WD9CVP, and W9MUP, all beacons, plus a few SSB QSO's. Still hearing them at 12:55AM. Band is usually dead at this time, but you never know when propagation will change and the band comes alive. Wow.

What freq's are those? You ever heard the Hams/CBs on 27.025 Mhz Shortwave? There are some examples of this on Youtube. I always hear the Bye Bye Bye guy on there.

The CB band(11 meters) in the US is from 26.965 - 27.405 MHz. The 10m ham band is from 28.0 - 29.7 MHz.
27.025 corresponds to CB channel 6, so yes there are CB'ers there, and some have very loud strong signals.
