Can the VIP622 play video files from a network drive? (eg. can it act as a client and display AVI/MPG/MKV files?)

If so, what files are supported?

If not, does the VIP722 do this? (or any other Dish HD DVR?)

um. i thought you could do this with a flash drive or camera or even mp3 player direct into the usb port.
i'm pretty sure you can do this on at least one of the receiver models
but network, no.

You can do jpegs from a flash drive but not video....

ok. good to know. i think the 922 will be far more versatile tho. it sounds like it CAN be networked. from the discriptions i heard, sounded simillar to the capabilities of my xbox for streaming media from a pc.

"Gun to Head" at DISH?

722 + wall cable?
