Howdy All,

Can I use a cable drop from 2 difrent dish's on my HD DVR?

I have 2 Dtv dish's on the roof - 1st one I think its called au9 dish. This dish is the older dish used to recieve hd locals. the 2nd dish is the 18inch 3 lnb that picked up national HD.

I have 1 line drop running from the au9 dish and one line running from the 18inch dish.

Will this work? using 2 dish's to supply 1 HD DVR?

Thanks,

No, it will not work, and it makes no sense to do so, as the AU9 (or AT9, if it is the older dish) "looks" at the same orbital locations as the Phase 3 (18" (actually 20") 3 lnb) dish.

Connect 2 leads from the 5 LNB dish to your HD DVR, and you are good to go.

Your AU9(?) has a 4way multiswitch built in just connect the second line to it. The receiver must see identical inputs for it to work correctly, besides the old phase 3 dish can't provide MPEG4 HDTV signals.
