yes you can use it just fine...just add a FTA receiver. Here is a pic on how to set it up

i have a c-band lnb on my dish. Do i need a ku-band lnb on my c-band dish to make it work fta reciever

Not unless you want fta from the ku satellites also, you can get the fta from c-band lnb for now, if you have no ku lnb yet.

just setup your viewsat receiver to receive c-band

a lot of us add a seperate satellite listing in the menu for this but you don't have to .
just check in setup and make sure the LO is set to 5150 ( for c-band instead of 10750 which is for ku)

you can stay c-band only but there is a lot of ku up there too.
get used to setting up what you have first then expand out to ku

under each satellite's antenna setting in the view sat make sure the "lnb lo frequency" is 5150

you will not have the diseqc switch in the diagram just the splitter
Your analog receiver will control the movement of the dish and change the polarity from V and H.
