this is actually for 58 and 78.8 it calls for one dish and a dual stacked LNBF the reciever is the same as the latest directv HD and a SWM 8

I have two dishes one at 78.8 and one at 58 and I dont want an installer coming over and installin tha oval dish
the reciever is a dual tuner

Question can I get it to work with 2 dishes a 2 regular dual LNBF and one 21 KHZ combiner?
or do I need that SMm 8 thingy
and also that manual says that LNB is for 79 and 76
is that oval dish for 58 and 78.8 or 79 and 76?

This are not my pics takes from the internet

Don't worry, no D* tech will be coming by to install this set up, they don't do anything at those locations and that's not a dish they would deal with either.

78.8 use 1 dish

The oval dish in the pictures is an slimline dish with a modified arm

The lnb is legacy type dual stacked and is intended to work for the 2 locations if needed

New Sky Legacy Stacked LNB
SWM8 Switch
29V Power Inserter
SWM Splitter if more than 1 IRD

Hey Tecnicoloco...

Do you know if the photo showing the two LNB ports both connected to the 13v + 22 KHz and 18v + 22 KHz tone generating ports on the SWiM-8 module is correct?

As it doesn't make sense from the standpoint of how all other two satellite position dual stacked LNBs that I'm aware of operate when connected to a multiswitch where it's normally only one connection on a 22 KHz tone and voltage port and the other on a non-22 KHz voltage only one.

Thanks. ..

Hi HoTat2:

As far as I can tell from the pictures, the connections are correct

SkyMex use a 22Khz tone for switching and those 2 ports are the ones that pass the 22Khz

I have no seen this system in person, but have a pretty good idea what they are doing using SWM8 switch to use SWM only receivers with Legacy LNB's

Let me ask some friends from the South that do this install

Check the attachment for using an 18" dish with Legacy LNB's for SWM only receivers

Ok fine, I'll await your checking this out with others. Thanks ...

It's just that the confusion is caused by the way twin stacked LNBs typically operate make the hookup to both tone generating outputs of the SWiM-8 module nonsensical.

As you would expect it to be something like on either LNB port ...

A 10 - 21v range DC voltage = 76W

Or a 10 - 21v range DC voltage + 22 KHz = 79W

Then at the 76W satellite position one LNB output port sends the downconverted transponders of the satellite at that slot stacked atop one another of up to 12 odd numbered ones placed between 950-1450 MHz. And up to 12 even numbered ones placed between 1650-2150 MHz to one of the voltage w/o 22 KHz ports on the SWiM-8.

And at 79W the other LNB output port sends the stacked transponders for the satellite at that position to one of the voltage + 22 KHz inputs on the SWiM-8 module.

It's been nearly three months and the TS hasn't come back.
