Can I connect an R15 to an HD Dish?

During a move I upgraded to HD but have an R15 that I'd like to connect to the dish, preferably to continue using it (in place of an HD receiver that isn't connected to an HD TV) but at least to be able to finish watching all the recordings on the R15. So I suppose this is a two question post:

1. is it possible to watch recordings on an R15 DVR without connecting it to a dish or multiswitch?

2. is it possible to use an R15 with an HD dish?

#1, no it needs to be connected.

#2, as long as it's not connected to a dish with a SWM Slimline dish you'll be OK. If you have a SWM5 or SWM8 you'll need to make sure it's connected to a legacy port. If none of this means anything to you then just go ahead and connect it and give it a try.
