Can a DPP 33 be trunked off of a DPP 44?

OK, I should know this, but I don't. I currently have 7 tuners (4 receivers) hooked up to a DPP 44. The three dual tuner receivers are using DPP separators so that I only have to have one line to each. I am adding another dual tuner receiver that I also only want to run 1 line to. Is it possible to run a DPP 33 from a 44 for two of the dual tuner receivers and run only a single line to each of them?

Also, if this is possible, what is the maximum distance from the DPP 44 to the DPP 33 (thinking about putting the 33 in the attic while the 44 is outside). Thanks in advance.

don't see why not, the trunk outputs from the DPP44 are the same signal as comes to the inputs. Just don't max the total distance from dish to receivers when you add the runs between the switches.

The only difference is if you have 4 sats with the DPP44 you will only be able to connect 3 sats to the DPP33.

Not sure I understand you there. If the 33 is connected to the 44 why wouldn't it still access all 4 satellite inputs from the 44? Is it somehow different from just connecting a dpp 44 to the right side of the current 44 in the way that it recognizes satellites?

You have to connect ALL outputs from one switch to the inputs of the next, each output is one sat only. DPP44 has four sat outputs and the DP34 only has three sat inputs. Pick any 3 of the 4. If the DPP44 only has three sats connected to it's inputs, then you only need three outputs connected to the next switch.

Ah, I see. Thanks for that bit of info. I think that might have driven me crazy trying to figure out. So let's say I have 4 birds connected to the DPP 44. Is it just a straight pass through from left (input of the dpp 44) to right (output of the dpp44)? So which ever ones I connect "out" from the dpp 44 on the right of the switch to the "ins" of the dpp 33 will go through to that switch?

So if you are looking at 4 orbitals then you would need another DPP 44 sw and another power inserter for it to keep all your sats.

Sidenote: DPP 33 can be trunked off a DP 34 switch as well.
