Caller ID Or $6 More?

Hi, I have been thinking about "Dishin' It UP" with a VIP-622 DVR. I read the terms on dish's site and caught a requirement that you musthave caller ID or pay $6 more/mo. Does anybody pay this fee? Do you know why Dish wants that money if I don't have caller ID? I don't subscribe to caller ID. Thanks all.

they dont want you to have callerid they want you to have the phone line connected so it can dial out once a month.. makes sure the box is where it's supposed to be and to get ppv without calling in manually.. I had to rewire some to get a line to both my boxes, not fun..

Go to ebay or local electronics dealer and buy one of those wireless phone jacks. They such for talking on the phone but work great for satellite use.

Just get a wireless phone jack. Easy solution and will pay for itself after 6 months
