Call me crazy, but today (NOV 7 09) I installed our outdoor Christmas lights (even on the dish) while my wife baked a pumpkin pie for tomorrow's Thanksgiving \ Christmas celebration. Tomorrow we will have a Thanksgiving feast (turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, cream corn, biscuits and pumpkin pie) followed by watching "Christmas with the Kranks" while decorating the Christmas tree. I also have all the leaves picked up in the entire yard. This is a first for me, because I usually am raking well into January.

After hearing two weeks ago that my dad has lung cancer and will begin chemo and radiation treatments next week, I no longer want to put things off and want to create some great memories for my daughter.

Sorry about your dad, I believe he will be alright. I'll say a prayer. Every day is precious.
That dish looks very cool......You just gave me an idea...

Nice decorations.
Good that you moved the holidays up a bit.
Never hurts to have a celebration any time family is together! - :up

Thank you guys. For the dish lights I used gutter hooks that worked nicely to keep the shape. I also used wire ties to keep them attached when its windy.

Scott should hold a best decorated dish contest this year. :)

My wife actually loves the dish lights and suggested we keep them on all year.

Very cool pic's indeed. I too got most of the leaves picked up. It's been rather nice here too, just right up the road from you...;) My prayers and best wishes to you and the family.

Clint

Thank you guys for all the kind words. Perhaps i'll light up the other dishes as well and get the neighbors talking. :)

Additional pictures

I placed rope lighting on second dish.

Nice shots.
I use a dimmer on my lights to save some power and make the bulbs last longer.

I am moving to LEDs

Hope your father does well with the treatments.
