I have been using a Sonicview 360 Premier for Ku and now have been trying to use it for my minibud project but I think it doesn't actually do C band. With the setting properly configured as soon as I connect either my bsc621 or bsc421 I get 99 signal - even if it is inside the house or pointing at the ground. I've never been able to get any quality. Has anyone tried the sv360 on C band? I can't waste more time on this.

I have a Fortec 1.2m with a Lava SG2100 motor. I get 72w to 129w.

Now that there is a flood of refurbished SD boxes on ebay I'm thinking of picking up a different cheap unit. Can anyone recommend the CS4000, CS5000, or CS6000 for good C band reception?

If there is a solution to the SV360 please let me know. I have contacted the manufacturer but they haven't got back to me.

Thanks
Kev

I use the Coolsat 5000 on C-Band and it works great.
Well worth it :)

As for the SV I know sometimes my Pansat does the same thing...goes to 99 signal. I usually power the receiver off with switch on back then power back on and that fixes it (signal quality is normally 77-79 when not aimed at a satellite)

Thanks for the response. I just tried the power off method and no luck - signal always at 99. I've just ordered a CS5000 off ebay for $29 + $10 shipping. I have read a lot of criticism of the SV 360 premier and while it has been accurate - USALS issues, AC3 issues - I am surprised that it falls down on C band. My minibud is now just another week away.

What kind of signal strength numbers were showing up when you attached the LNB? I've tried mine and a brand new SV360 which I borrowed and both show 99 signal no matter. What brand of C band LNB?
Thanks,
Kev

It showed 99 signal strength on a lot of sats. Lots of receivers do that...I pay it no mind as quality is what I'm after. This was with a DMX741 C/KU LNBF.
