I emailed Skyvision to get a response of them about the "end of C Band"
Here's their response:
We have received notification from Motorola that the 4DTV programming, as
>> we have known it, will be shut down effective December 31, 2010. All
>> is not lost however. Skyvision is working behind the scenes with
>> Motorola and our programming partner (SRL's Programming Center in
>> Green Bay, Wisconsin), and found a solution that could continue use
>> of your 4DTV equipment for subscription reception. We successfully
>> tested the DSR-920 and DSR-922 models of 4DTV receivers for the
>> possible ability to convert them for reception of the DSR-410
>> datastream found on the W5 C-band satellite at 105 West. Skyvision
>> has marketed a basic system using a six-foot dish, C-band LNBF and a
>> Digicipher 2 receiver known as the DSR-410. System is pointed at W5,
>> and present lineup provides 38 premium movie channels and about 60
>> cable TV services, plus some digital audio channels. Long term
>> contracts should keep these channels on the air well beyond the end
>> of this year, because they are needed for cable facilities.
>>
>> Our Programming Center is working on the logistics that could allow a
>> software update to your 4DTV receiver from the W5 satellite, much in
>> the same manner that you now use G1-03 for updates. Once the 4DTV
>> datastream is turned off on December 31, it should be possible to do
>> this receiver update, and convert 4DTV receivers to use the same
>> datastream as DSR-410 receivers now use. Check with our Programming
>> Center after early December to confirm their plans. Telephone 800-500-9268.
