My big dish satellite system developed a severe static problem. We had a wind storm, which jammed a lawn chair under my 10 foot dish, disabling the ability to switch satellites, and I thought the severe static problem I have been experiencing on some stations may be caused by needing a dish re-alinement.
I'm getting full signal strength and tweaking the position of the dish does not alleviate the problem.
I did a quick flick through my channels, and, for instance, I have perfect reception from one satellite, but the ones East or West of it have the static problem: maybe it's not an alinement problem?
As well, the polarity of the good reception channels versus the channels with the static problem was not consistent.
However, today, I realized that the problem is analog related...
Showtime1 West on GO 15 has terrible static, while the same program on Showtime1 West on GO 101 has perfect reception. Digital reception is fine, but something went wrong on the analog side.
My 4DTV receiver is made by General Instruments.
Can you guys help me out here?
