I just signed up for this forum and it suggested I stop by Chit-Chat and introduce myself. So here I am.

A radio bug since grade school (first licensed in 1964) I followed the radio interests thru several careers until I discovered computers and data communications in the 1970's.

Long career in datacomm, with a stint doing 2-way Ku Band data stuff in the 80's. Got interested in Big Dish TVRO when I bought a rural California home with a 12' Paraclipse and Drake Analog setup about 6 years ago. Added a 4DTV (922) and a second dish for Ku band. Kept the Drake online for some casual analog uses, but that's pretty-well history now.

Getting hot-to-trot on MPG/DVB stuff now and getting ready to add another dish and (probably) a pansat.

More than that and I'd have to start giving measurements ;)

I've known of Satellite Guys for a while, finally decided to join up while browsing around tonite. Hope to find more knowledge to fuel my upcoming MPEG/DVB project.
