buying a 522?

I found a 522 for sale for $85. My question is that will did atavate it. Im asking this before i buy something i hear a lot of people dont do. Also can dish notice if it is a 522 or a 625? And how much is a 301 worth on the market w/ out remote.

For 85 i would make sure it is not leased or has a balance on it. If it's a leased unit Dish will not activate it at all. If it has a balance you will have to pay the balance before you can activate it.

Yes they will know if it is a 625 or a 522 from the ROO and SOO numbers.

Can't really tell you what a 301 with no remote is worth, but it wont be more than 40 - 50.

Call DISH with the R00 & the S00 numbers.
They can tell you status, and if it can be activated.
