After 6 years and 1 week, called and cancelled dish today, csr wanted to know why, she said the 211 lease offer was indeed "very fair" , I said just please cancel the account...got to another department after 5 minutes; I repeated complaint about 811 being obsolete.
Now this American woman offerred me a 211 for $199, but said I had to get a minimum package (the Bronze everyone knows about) and of course the only thing
I've been watching lately are my locals and Bloomberg which I know would be even more; and I'm figuring over a grand in the next year alone; and I'm not made of money, and my house is freezing, and of courses I envisioned a UPS delivery
of an empty box - like someone else got here - and what if I get a buggy 411,
or the thing is I can't TRUST these people anymore . I can trust the fact I will
pay a lot and service keeps getting worse.
Also I did complain about not getting good equipment six years ago
and it was very hard to get 61.5 hooked up...part of the trust issue is I was offered
money back or bought equipment which did not work properly a total of
four times at least and I CAN"T trust them to even send me an empty box.

No more women's olympic hockey in HD or checking locals qualify weekly

I'm not gonna argue with you, but at least get your facts before posting. The empty boxes that people are receiving are return shipment boxes for the receivers they are turning back in. Dish is not sending out empty boxes to people and telling them they are 622's.

As for your house freezing, well yeah, you gotta have priorities, got to be able to afford a warm house before luxuries like tv. I agree with you there.

Another fact is the $199 fee you quoted for the 211, the correct charge is $99 wich includes the upgrade of the dish to get you all of HD programming.

ANOTHER fact straight is I recalled this morning 24 small or big problems in 6 years which were usually not resolved quickly or well. Yeah, I can leave - THAT"S
WHAT I did. I'm sure I can't recall them all, that's another fact.
ANd the retention woman was named Suzanne if you want to go fire her or whatever. That's another fact.

Geez, it's about time! We have been waiting for you to leave for quite a while now! Oh yeah, and the whole 10 year thing, even if you do come back at the end of that 10 years, it will still be way to soon for our comfort!
I would say that was a fact, but since I don't work or speak for Dish, I am just guessing that is what they are saying!

I am fine with you and some others people leaving. More people will come to replace you. It is life. Congrats, now you can buy some wood to make your house warmer. That is very important. I report that fortunately my house is warm and I have some money left to spent on Dish HD

I can't understand these posts. I have been with Dish since 10/96. They have been wonderful. Even after the three hurricanes we had in 04 my Dish still worked (on generator power). It took my neighbors 2 weeks to get the cable back. Every time I have called them they have been super great.

Iceberg you are lucky. I can't get OTA here. Although there is no perfect choice Dish beats the pants off of Cable.
