I think that's REC and yes (well, it's up to you then how you want your ports configured, but to keep them consistent with the internal switch, you are correct.)
Some tell me that bypassing the switch will improve performance somewhat. I couldn't tell much difference either way so that's up to you...

the only reason I use a separate diseqc switch is I have 2 other LNB's hooked up to the receiver (fixed dishes)

how about making a couple c rings out of teflon? i done it and it worked.that is you are trying to mount your bsc621 .
