Brett Coming Back!

But that would have involved thinking about someone or something else besides himself.

I agree ...
But if he was going to do that, OR ask for a trade you would have thought he'd mention it ahead of time so they could get draft picks and at least draft a top QB.

Jimbo

Now Favre wants to be traded. He needs to retire.

so it is Favre's fault for not having the Packers add one offensive weapon in Thompson's 3 years, while having Ahman Green, Javon Walker, and others leave on "O"? C'mon. It is not just not getting Moss which pissed him off it is the fact we have done jack squat for a couple years to help an offense. We have $15+ million in cap space right now. We couldn't go after 1 player in FA? not 1? I get Thompson is building through te draft and his drafts have been pretty good. But they should have told Favre they weren't going to do crap in the off-season and let him move on instead of having your megastar pissed off. It has been reported by local media Brett was told to let the Pack know before the SB if he was coming back. If he did that and was coming back they would work to add weapons on offense. We have done the opposite.

We miss Ron Wolf.:river :river

Actually his trade request came a month ago, around the draft. No comment from any of the parties involved as to whether they have kissed and made up since then. It's time for a divorce here, but neither side wants to be the bad guy PR wise. Favre deserves better than this.

I agree with most of that. It is just too bad in little Green Bay WI, the bastion of pure NFL football if there is one, the Organization can't do a little more to try and make one more run at it. Both parties are at fault to some degree, but, the lack of offensive weapons gained and actually lost over the last 2-3 years is something the GBP front office should not be proud.

Brett wants out and I cant blame him. They have done nothing to help him. If he wants to leave on top or at least on a team with more win than losses he needs to leave.

They still need a running game.

I deally yes but in that division they could do OK as they are. As for the playoffs I would guess that the Pack's luck would run out at some point but who knows where or when that will be.

IMO being a NFC team they could make it to the Super Bowl, but without a running game, they will never win.

Well, If we look at the running game overall in the NFL in terms of Statistics and ranking-

New England ranks #8.

Some of those ahead of them...

Minnesota
Tennessee
Jacksonville
AND
Oakland.

But of course the Pack... Dead last.

I will not deny that a running game is really needed, But, if you make the passing game emulate a running game there's no telling how far it can carry you

I went into the season picking them to go 8-8 or 6-10.

I like being wrong! (Sometimes)

the mighty 49ers had much more of a short passing game than a running game and they did OK.

I stil think taht the packers rely too much on Favre and eventually that will not be enough but it might well be enough to make it to the playoffs.
