BREAKING: LEBRON chooses Miami

Seeing that I have lived BOTH in Miami AND Chicago and know BOTH fans well, I can honestly say....Wade was VERY close to leaving. Now, do I believe they have wanted to play together for a while...? YUP. But I think once Bosh made his decision to play in Miami.....the choice for both to complete the "I wanna play together" deal was obvious. MANY down here and MANY up there in Chicago thought he was gonna be a Bull. Remember, it was NOT Wade who asked for a 2nd meeting with them, it was Bulls management that did. I am sure he thought it would not hurt to meet them again....and they went hard at him. And he blinked.

wade was filming a documentary and its been pretty much agreed his second meeting in chicago was only for the documentary. read my previous comment. this was planned 3 years ago and they played everybody. salsa, i'm sorry if you feel for it but so did lots of people.

Till Wade signed on Wednesday, you didn't know what was gong to happen for sure.

Had Bosh said Yes to Cleveland, James would still be there.
Wade could have easily went to his home town to play.

i had to read and listen to several interviews to come to the conclusion. again, bosh was never going to go to cleveland. wade was never going to chicago and espn didn't just land the special. it was hatched out months and years ago.

Bingo, well said. He should have made it in a simple press release a week ago. As it is, another thing I am PO'ed about is that we waited for just about every other big free agent to land. He tied Dan Gilbert's hands due to the cap, and now after losing a superstar, the tools that we need to rebuild just are not available this year anymore. So Lebron double screwed us.

That letter by Gilbert was perfectly warranted. He has all the right to be upset.

You seem to share the same feeling as a lot of people, Clevelanders included.

This was a PR disaster! Just a few short weeks ago, LeBron was the "King" of basketball. He could do no wrong and was loved by everyone. Today, he turned into a villain. One of the most hated, if not THE most hated player in the league. What he did was despicable!

Gosh I would love to take a road trip when Lebron takes his first visit to the Cavs, I am guessing that it will be a national TV game, but not being there wont do it justice. It will be intrest to see how Miami fills out its roster (I dont think they are a automatic ticket to finals) and how the Cavs move ahead

Yeah, pretty much. That whole process was obnoxious. The normal, professional thing to do, is show up at the new city, and hold a press conference with the team owners, coaches, and say I have decided to come to.... Miami, Chicago, New York... whatever.

This spectacle made him look like a total a#%^-hl#.

I don't care that he left Cleveland; its just the way he did it that I think stinks.

Oh, and lucky for Chicago, he won't be bringing the curse to the United Center.

First off...Hahahahahahahaha. Cleveland lost their ONLY shot at a championship.

I have no problem that he left his home town, disappointed the fans and left his team, that is part of the process. What I do have a problem with is how he did it, that is obnoxious.

What he did is like if your girlfriend/boyfriend wanted to break up with you but didn't want to tell you to your face, so they threw a party with your 100 closest friends then during the first hour they decided to make a speech and tell all your friends they are leaving you for another person down the street.

But he never doubted himself.

That's one of the great ironies of this -- James is trying to flee pressure, but he will just face more of it. He is trying to maximize his "brand," but he just damaged it.

In Miami, anything short of a title will be a failure. Nobody outside of Miami will root for this team, and nobody in Miami roots for anybody. They're too busy enjoying the weather.

The SI article hit the nail on the head. Lebron and the heat now have the largest target on their back in the NBA. There is so much anger now directed twards him because of this stunt. I wonder how they are going to take it getting booed every night they are on the road. especally in the 4 city's the lebron just said wasnt good enough for him.
