Brand new DirectTV cust. From Dish

HEy everyone. So just signed up for DTV after 8 years with dish

Got everything below for $1 up front cost
-whdvr-hr34
-cinema kit
-premier package
-free install
-free equipment

Anything I should be aware of

Moving into new house and may not have TV installed prior to install date. They say they can install with or without Tv

There are a few things you should be aware of:

1. you got a great deal!

2. you signed up with the best dbs company.

3. you signed up with the best satellite website in the world!

Advice: Get a TV before installation. They can not install w/out TV(s), regardless what the CSR said.

One other thing. Can I just bring a small 20" and have them hook it up to each receiver to make sure it works. House under final stage of construction and just want to have tv ready for actual move in date

what you would get is a regular HD DVR (like a HR24)

Iceberg is correct on the order, because I just resubbed to Directv. It wil plainly state the Home Media Center on the order, because many folks thought they were getting one and did not.

your just getting a regular hd dvr thats why your total is $1 it should be $99 + tax if your getting a hr34

Call back now I subscribed yesterday and I have my install scheduled for tomorow. This is from my conformation email. Notice the HR34 is in red. It would be $99 and that is as cheap as it gets. I also got an additional HR24 DVR in blue. That is what you would get for free. I am paying $99 for it because I ordered it as an additional receiver. Then there is the plain H25 receiver in green that was free. So you need to call back now if you want the HR34 as I seriously doubt they will have an extra on the truck.

As others have already mentioned, you definitely got a standard HD DVR, not the HR34. I ordered the HR34 and it does say HMC HD DVR on the order confirmation. I would call them immediately. Check your PM!

You still get a good deal on it as a new sub at $99.00. I had to pay $399 to "lease" one, but I REALLY wanted those 5 tuners, and since it is xmas time, I counted the HR34 as a "gift" to myself. I have been really pleased with it so far. I cant wait until they get the HD GUI for it, that was the worst thing about replacing a HR24 with it.

I agree. I was willing to spend $399, but getting it at $99 is a steal.

Called direct tv 4 times today. They kept screwing up the order but got my confirmation email with the HMC included plus 300 discount as expected

I kept asking for (2) HR24's but the order confirmation does not specify other than (2)HD receivers. I ask because when I called for the first time this morning to correct the order they said I'd be getting (2)hr22's

I insisted on the hr24's and got a verbal okay but don't see it. Here is the copy of what I got from DTV. Anything out of line or is this pretty straight forward

Sorry for the newbie request for help. Just went through a bunch f calls and corrections and want this transition to work out

You are only getting HD receivers which will be the H25. The HR24 is an HD DVR and you would have to request that.

You should also get $10.00 off your bill with auto pay for free HD.

You should get locals included no matter what package.

Yes, the H25s would be fine for accessing DVR content. Be aware they're called H25s not HR25. Any receiver with HR is an HD DVR.

Also, be aware you can't technically rewind or fast forward with the H25s unless you set the show to record.
