Bose Cinemate Digital Home Theater Speaker System

I'm looking at buying this system from Bose instead of a true surround sound system with rear speakers. I've read a lot of good things about. Anyone out there have one or is thinking about buying one? It will be going in my family room and I already have a DVR/DVD, so I don't need anything other than a speaker system.

I haven't heard this system myself, but I'm not a fan of anything that Bose puts out. A couple of family members have bought this from them and they haven't lasted that long.

I agree, I have heard them, both in showroom and in a HT. I would spend the money (around $500) on a better quality A/V head unit and a much better 5.1, 6.1, 7.1 (whatever) speaker setup. Bose (to me) has become another "terk" of the A/V world; so much buzz & hype created to escalate prices, but failing in real quality, value and substance.

The polk sound bar or it's yamaha equivilent are far superior.
