Quick Time is just a media player, it's not a bad thing. I just did a complete scan after going to that page and playing the announcement and there were no bad things on my computer

Quicktime Media Player, Remove it, READ THIS
Install VLC from videolan (the switchblade of media players)
I've used it like forever, it's my default player for all media on both Windows and Linux)

Thanks FaT Air, I rarely use Windows but do have 7 on my main dual boot system along with XP in a virtualbox and on the kids computer. I'm sure Quicktime is on them so I will have a look.
