Boosting signal

Hi

I have Directv but this is a more general discussion.

What is the best way to boost signal?

I have a single small dish with about 50 ft of cable between the dish and the receiver with one break.

Any ideas on the best way to increase it? I have a transponder I want to get a better quality signal from and right now I am only getting about 60% from.

My guess is you currently have an 18" dish. You can purchase a bigger dish. You can also buy a better LNBF. Give us more details about your setup. Dish type, reciever, location, etc.

Dish is 18 inches (I think) It is one of those smaller dish.
reciever is a Hughes D*older regular model.

it has one cable going to a splitter from the satellite (about 2ft of cable) to a 50Ft cord going into the house.

Bigger dish

I went from a 20" to a 30" for my ExpressVu setup and gained about 15 points on most transponders
