I know this is a reported bug. However, I need some opinions as to the cause of the problem. Is it a software issue or is my new 622 defective?
My 622 was installed on 03/25/2006. In 4 days I have encountered this problem 12 times. The signal goes black and I get a loud screeching noise. If I wait a few minutes the unit will restart and all is well. A few hours later it happens again.
I have called tech support twice and I have been told both times that it is a software issue. They say that it is a widely reported problem and it will be fixed with the next software release.
I have read that others with this problem have received replacement units and some have been told that it is a software issue.
What do you guys think?
