A couple Coolsat's ( a 6100 and a 7000 PVR) have shown up in my local Craig's List for sale today. Prices aren't that good yet, but maybe in the future.

As soon as the channels start dropping off, then we'll see some good deals on FTA gear I think that the HD/NFL/NHL/Nascar subscribers will get new cards first, followed by the Movie Channel subscribers so that those channels can be moved exclusively to the new cards first. That's when people with hacked FTA units will start to abandon ship because "there's nothing to watch".
Beep wrong, those subscribed to certain services will get new cards first. Those services will flip to the new security within 2 months after the first cards go out. From there they will go down the line.
Dish will also be doing a swapout as well. While it may be to the end of the year before Dish is done Dish has a few tricks up its sleeve that can keep the pirates busy until they finish the swap. And then there is the Eastern Arc.
Sure it may be til the end of the year before everything is done, but most of the big things will be switched over early.
I hope that both Dish and ExpressVu can pull it off.

Only ones worrying are the hackers.
RTN DVB-S2.
Is it Ku or C?
If Ku where is it?
I just got DVBWorld supporting S2.
Thanks
So all receivers are going to have a replacement card, even all of the cardless receivers?
I did some digging around in the sewer last night...
correct. They will decode the AC-3 channels with no extra equipment so you can record the PBS channels to a DVD recorder with just a pair of patch cablesDavage said:That's when I'll get one, even though I don't have an HDTV, from what I've heard from Iceberg, they have AC3 decoding built in which would be pretty sweet for the AC3 encoded channels
