I am just trying to get started with FTA,I live in southern MI, and ma having trouble figuring what model receiver and dish to buy. I am tired of paying for monthly for tv,for the few channels I watch. If I understand correctly I will be using KU band, for I don't have the room for a huge dish,I need to put it on my roof. I want to buy a receiver and dish to get started, but don't want to buy to little for a decent system. I am trying to get a system working for my retired mother who has no income, and is now watching the few channels she can get thru an attenna that sways in the wind. I would like to put up a dish for her, but can't afford to buy twice. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

In regards to FTA, it may supplement your OTA TV, but maybe getting all the OTA possible is an 'avenue' to investigate also.
If this is your TVFOOL report, should be more than a few available with an antenna. I see some of the 'most prized' sub channels are in that market (or at least the info on the Inet says so) Is the antenna UHF/VHF?? How long has it been up? Any maintenance performed?
Need help"? There's a section for that : Digital Over the Air Television Talk By RabbitEars
