Yes vBulletin can be setup like that.

In fact that will be our next upgrade when we get to big for our new server, we will get a machine and just serve the website with it, while the other server will be downgraded just to handle the database.

Apache is a big portion of our server load. Between Apache and mySQL the server load is split equally 50 - 50. (of course there are other things running as well such as email and other services.

We are planning for that already.

That will be very good for Satelliteguys!! Since you would have 2 servers that should minimize any downtime that may occur too.

Sorry if I'm throwing this in the wrong thread, but I have a great Idea/question.

Is there a way to set up a vbulletin page for wap devices so I can surf satelliteguys on my blackberry?

I wish, there have been numerous attempts at a WAP hack for vBulletin but none of them worked correctly.

I have tried a few of them and was not happy with the results.

the computer i usually use is an old one runs slow (main one is in the other room). i have noticed today that pages load faster on this old machine.

Its moving faster as I played a nice trick. This morning I moved our ads server to its own seperate server, the ads server was causing a lot of the server load we have been seeing.

Trust me guys when I say I am working hard behind the scenes on all of this.

We are currently working on the DishRetailer.COM database, while we do this you may see some slowness, or inability to connect to the server for a few moment. Things will return to normal in a little while.
