Neither of my 722's are "loud", but they can be heard. They are louder than the 625 & the 508 that I had previously.
I put a notebook cooling pad (which has a couple of fans) under my 722 and plugged it into the rear USB port on the 722. It seems to keep it significantly cooler.
Any changes to report after 2+ months?Because of the tightness of my cabinet, I don't have the clearance for that, which is probably why I am having these problems in the first place.
Either way, the fan is installed, and my starting temps are:
Boo, temperature! :down I will report back with any changes.
- High: 138
- Low: 113
- Average: 125
I assume those are as reported in the diagnostics screen. Has anyone figured out where those are actually measured? Is that info provided by the HDD or from somewhere on the PCB? TIA...I can tell you my current reading temps:
104/77/91 F.
Hi UnSat, Do you know when Dish updates the Temperature readings? I got a Hi off 139, avg of 114. Hooked up a personal fan for the fun of it, Thermaltake fan will be here in a couple of days, and via my thermometer low temp dropped to 70 and internal fan shut off. 722 said temps didn`t change at all in 2 weeks, that is why I`m trying to find out when they update them, or I may possibly have a faulty unit. Thanks for your input, Skip
