AutoHop Question

Charlesrshell, here are the results of AutoHop last night:

NO Hop
Big Brother CBS/KMOV - OTA 8/8
Family Food Night KDNL/ABC - OTA 8/8

AutoHop
The Wall NBC/KSDK - OTA 8/8
Law & Order: Special Victim NBC/KSDK - OTA 8/8
Holey Moley Family Food Night KDNL/ABC - OTA 8/8
Reef Break KDNL/ABC - OTA 8/8
OK, thanks

Just remember that it will take a little while for the major channels to display show information.

Will do WickedStepMom. That is why I am going to cancel Sat locals tomorrow. Don't want any issues recording Monday's soaps Y&R and B&B. Wonder why your AutoHop isn't working for Big Brother. I restored both Wednesday and last nite's episodes from the trash can. Both episode's AutoHop works. Try it again, maybe there was a delay for the AutoHop to kick in. That happens sometimes. Also try a reboot if it still doesn't work.

Programs like Big Brother and Family Food Night are "live action" type programs, kind of like sporting events. They don't get Autohop either. Somewhere back in the beginning of the autohop discussion here on Satguys the exclusions were listed, I can't find that discussion. It would have been in 2012 or so....

But my Big Brother nextday AutoHop works. WickedStepMom's BB Autohop doesn't work.

I wish I could find that old discussion, it laid it out pretty well. It was 7 years ago and I can't quite get it all together in my head.
I checked my second Hopper 3 that also has a Big Brother timer set and the AutoHop worked too for both Big Brother episodes. It has always been a known that AutoHop usually is not there for sport programs. But shows like Big Brother should not be a problem. There have been several post in the past where AutoHop didn't work sometimes but yet worked on someone else Hopper. One of them there strange issues.

The Big Brother episode 17 that PTAT recorded on 8/1/19 has Autohop. Big Brother episode 18 recorded on 8/4/19 and Big Brother episode 19 recorded on 8/7/19 do not have Autohop yet. Autohop on my CBS is never active until 8 days later.

We are in the CBS blackout area. We get OTA next day AutoHop for all CBS shows.

Just cancelled my DISH Sat locals. Decided to set OTA timers in my secondary backup Hopper 3 only. Primary Hopper 3 will run with Sat timers only. PTAT sure is a nice feature. Having to set all these OTA local channel timers is a PITA and eating up a lot of timers. Also the 16 tuner Hopper 3 sure has me spoiled. OTA conflicts are already driving me crazy. Been a long time since I have had to deal with conflicts. We need a four tuner OTA adapter. One nice thing is I don’t have to punch in four digits on the remote control to go to the primary local channel. Hope having next day AutoHop works out for me. If not, no big deal. I will just add the Sat locals back to my account. I already miss the PTAT feature.

Yes, autohop still works when you don't sub to satellite locals. The next day? It didn't for me; I still had to wait a week for my Fox show, The Orville. But the big surprise for me was that recordings I made of The Orville before I enabled PTAT also had autohop time settings set. In fact, the autohop hop points were even set all the way back to my recording of the last series finale of Timeless.
TheKrell, is your next day AutoHop still not working for The Orville on FOX? I have tested all four OTA PTAT channels last couple of days and next day AutoHop is working for all of them. I searched for The Orville so I could test it but I guess it is in-between seasons right now. I do see it in On Demand. I wonder if AutoHop works for past PTAT On Demand programs! I selected Record All for The Orville in the On Demand menu but the timer schedule says No Timers Scheduled.

It's not just in between seasons, it's 3rd season will be streaming only. :( I am not currently recording anything auto-hop-able :D so I can't say.

Do you want me to try something on Fox for you? I'm on vacation this week... Currently enjoying the view out the bay window of the sound in Nags Head, NC.

No, I don't need any test, but thanks. Let me know too if you need me to test anything. This next day AutoHop is awesome. It is so sad not to be able to use PTAT single tuner any more, but oh will. Have fun in Nags Head.

Start of week #3 of the local channel 2019-2020 season and wanted to update how the AutoHop and local channel via my OTA are working out. Have been recording all the Prime channels: FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC, and CW. AutoHop doesn't show that same evening but the next morning I'm happy to say shows a little red Kangaroo and has been working on all the channels with the shows we watch in my home with the exception of CW (channel 11 for me) but I suppose CW really isn't a Prime channel.
Of course I can only record two local channels at the same time via the Hopper 3 since this OTA adapter is a dual tuner, but for those few times there is a third program I've been able to record it on my DVD burner/player since the OTA signal is split to the Hopper 3 and the DVD burner/player. Recording the third program this way, the show unfortunately does not have the AutoHop function.

I have a four tuner Tablo OTA DVR and recording conflicts still exist. The Tablo is only for backup as nothing compared with PTAT recording continous data streams.
