Auto Racing 2025

Veekay will be joining NXT driver Abel at the Dale Coyne team for a full season ride.

Veekay's season was looking doubt after ECR dropped him for Rossi.

They started the race "early" due to rain issues and got o ly 11 laps in. Looks like a few hours later, "race" will restart shortly.

Don't know why I put myself through it. NASCAR sux on these tracks. You have a guy make a legit pass for the lead in a race where single car passing is very rare, then cars come from behind and then crash out the car. Pathetic. That isn't racing, it is demolition derby.

I was watching the Asian IMSA races in Abu Dhabi this weekend via YouTube. The Yas Marina circuit certainly gets a lot of use.

I watched a great episode of Hagerty's "Barn Find Hunter" on their YouTube channel. They were visiting Dan Gurney's shop & memorabilia collection and finish showing off a never-finished 1969 All American Racing Eagle F1 car:

WEC's Qatar 1812 Friday/Saturday and Indycar opens in St. Petersburg, FL. Alex Palou looking to three-peat. Colton Herta hoping to put together a full season without some bad luck. Veekay looking to get a podium for Dale Coyne. AJ Foyt's team the best it has been in a long while. Looking forward to this season.
4k, HDR, Multi view and a premium tier reportedly coming to F1TV this season. To be official soon.
Now only if that F1 package could include passing. ;)

Porsche owned the 1812 last year, Ferrari this year, top 3. Only question was would the 50 hold onto the lead, in need of a decent splash and go. They did, by about 6 seconds. Corvette managed to hold off the McClaren for first in LMGT3.

So... no one who watches NASCAR was interested in the VP series? Place looked mostly deserted.

Indycar... Alex Palou benefits from a busy pit and Dixon having no radio and gets by Dixon. The two who just did what they do in only caring about winning and being ridiculously strategic. Much like how Will Power did a picture perfect job of ramming Nolan Siegel out on the first lap. That accident made life interesting for Indycar teams that remembered first laps are yellow prone. 15 or so cars were on the crappy soft tire to start. They immediately swapped them out. Those drivers were generally finishing top ten. Including Dale Coyne racer Rinus Veekay, holding onto 9th. Newgarden and McLaughlin finished 3rd and 4th. Herta... is cursed. The opening incidient would be the only one.

Sting Ray Robb got a lot of notice late in the race as he tried to keep from being lapped. Kudos for him not crashing out, or crashing out Dixon as he cut in front of him in a turn. He likely didn't mean offense, he just isn't that good.

Meanwhile yesterday in the VP Sportscar series, what is the only thing better than having your two cars dominating nearly the entire race? Having those cars filled with enough fuel to finish the last two to three minutes. Catalano and Trunjo watched their 1st/2nd finishes turn to second to last / last finishes as their cars slowed down and were unable to finish the race. The team wouldn't make the same mistake the second time around in the afternoon race.

Those two cars have dominated the VP series' first four races... and managed to finish three of them.
