With the $48.5 billion acquisition of DirecTV approved, changes are in the works at AT&T’s Dallas headquarters.AT&T already announced that it had plans to introduce new offers and services in the coming weeks. But that’s likely just the beginning, said Dave Heger, Edward Jones communications analyst.“We’ll see them trying to leverage that video expertise to wireless,” Heger said, adding that they’ll need to offer something that differentiates them in the marketplace. “There’s probably going to be a new strategy and direction around video for wireless and it may go a different direction than just paid TV.”As AT&T experiments with what it plans to roll out, the company will most likely be moving people around behind the scenes, positioning the right employees in the proper place. For Dallas, this could mean a larger corporate headcount – as DirecTV employees move over to AT&T. It could also mean the elimination of duplicated positions – like administrative functions. But all of this legwork has likely been laid out months in advance, as the deal has been in the public sphere of discussion since May.

I have been an TT&T HATER for over 20 years! I have Directv and I might just leave them because I HATE ATT so much... Very crappy service and they will soon jack up their prices.

If Yes, then why say that D* will be bad just because someone else owns it.
D* has been owned by many different people over time and there have been people that dislike each of them.
That said, there are others that are realist and understand I can't get to your house in 20 minutes to fix the issue you may have.
I had AT&T as my long distance landline and dial up service. Yes this had to be like 20 years ago,....I was called 7 and 7....When I switched to Cell and got HSI, I called AT&T to drop their service. It was almost impossible to get someone on the phone to cancel. So, I simply stopped paying the bill. That got their attention. They wanted the two months. Told the person to go pound sand. I documented every single call to AT&T customer service. The call ended up with "We apologize" and they waived the charges.I have been an TT&T HATER for over 20 years! AT&T (NYSE:T) has completed its purchase of DirecTV after receiving approval from the Federal Communications Commission. The $48.5 billion deal makes the company the largest provider of subscription television service in the United States. The new, larger AT&T will serve more than 26 million customers in the U.S. and more than 191 million customers in Latin America, including Mexico and the Caribbean. AT&T also has more than 132 million wireless subscribers and connections in the U.S. and Mexico, and nearly 16 million subscribers to its high-speed Internet service. The FCC has allowed AT&T to become a massive entity, but the agency did not approve the deal without conditions. The new cable and phone giant pledged to use its heft to expand the places where it offers broadband Internet access, and the FCC has made the deal conditional on it delivering.
