Back in the spring I had a 622 that on HD Channels there would be no video just sound... Went through the whole tech spill where I unplugged the unit waited 10 seconds and then would power back up. The unit worked fine, but would start the whole no video on HD channels all over so Dish sent me a replacement 622... Fast Forward to this week and it was just as if my other 622 has returned... Once again on the HD channels there is no video, but audio... Just for sheets and grins I hooked up my small HDTV to the unit and on it there is no video either... I am on WA with 65 to 80 on 129 and 80 to 100 on both 110/119 so signal is not an issue... I have seen other people having the same issue which I am curious if it is an issue with MP$ Compression as it does not seem to bother any of the standard def channels just HD or is it a software glitch which is a part of the current software which on mine is still at 629? I should not have to be rebooting a RCVR as much as I do to make it work... I really like the HD stuff, but man my 625 that I had was solid as a rock and other then the Hard drive crashing about 3 years ago with it I never had any issues... Any suggestions before I once again call tech support??? CC

My 622 has done this at random for over 4 years. Which with Dish, is probably about 20 firmware upgrades ago! heh. So, it's not specific to a particular firmware version.

With me, it's not all HD channels, and sometimes it'll clear itself after a recording stops on the other tuner. Also, IF there's something recording on the actual tuner that's blacked out, and you play it back later, the video is THERE! I've also a few times on the blacked out tuner, hit fast-forward, and the video immediately came back. Totally random, except there are patterns. Oh, and a reboot will clear it, but it could come back almost immediately, so a reboot isn't the real answer. Trying to figure out something that fixes it permanently, and that apparently can't be done. Not even Dish has fixed it.

Thanks for the response... I just know although it was completely standard def my 625 runs circles arond my 622... I just know that there can be issues that from time to time would cause you to have to reboot the system since after all it is a computer, but I should not have to reboot it every 3 or 4 days just to make the picture work... Dish is suppose to send a tech out to see if he can figure out what is going on, but just like a car that makes a noise since I rebooted the RCVR so my wife could watch TV it is working for now and I am sure will work while the dish tech is here which means the problem could still come back...
