So, I got my iPhone 6+, and Apple watch all set up and went to Walgreens to pick up my prescriptions. I'm not sure I am doing this the easiest way, but I opened the passbook and Apple Pay app on the watch, selected the card I want to use. I entered 3 cards and the one I will use most of the time is a rewards cash back card. I selected it on the watch even though it was my default card the way I set it up. Then moved my wrist/ watch near the terminal and I heard the ding and up came a place for me to sign. I did and the receipt printed out.
I was under the impression that I could just move the watch near by and the NFC would access the information without me having to bring up the app on the watch. Is the only time I need to bring up the app is when I wish to select a different card? I will test the Apple Pay without launching the app next time. I do understand the Apple instructions are you have to place your finger over the reader spot and not turn on the iPhone when you don't use a watch.
Just got a call from the CC company ( which I took with my watch
) They wanted to verify security on the Apple pay and also explained that I needed to set up my wife's iPhone and watch separately when she gets home so everything will match up.
I'm really impressed with the enthusiasm and knowledge these 3rd party ApplePay CSR people have, especially the bank. Now if the stores can just get the cashiers all trained better it will be perfect.
