I'm just telling you what my wife is unhappy about -- but the 4/4S had no changes. I don't recall the earlier phones to be honest.
It would have been cool if Apple had made the new connector a Thunderbolt connector since it's already out there.

Quite honestly I don't see enough of a feature change or a "must have" to pay for a new phone right now. My 4S does everything I need it to and iOS 6 is compatible with it already. Nothing really on the new phone has changed. I don't live in an LTE area so that feature isn't all that important to me.

From a 4S, maybe not. My wife is jumping from a 4 so it's a bigger difference.
Nice that they have an adapter to allow all your existing cords to still work. I just hope that it is not expensive, since I would probably pick up 4 of them....
