APP to intercept Wireless Micrphones

Folks.... ever seen or used an app that can tune in a specific radio frequency? More precisely,
is it possible to do so?
Trying to build a case as to why we should upgrade our microphone kits to encrypted ones.

I do not see how an app could do that, but a scanner would be able to do so. Encryption also helps isolate you from interference from other users of the same frequencies. If you are using the mics in confidential presentations, one could easily see an encryption need since anyone with a similar setup could tune in your stuff.
