Esteemed members of the MPEG2/FTA discussion group.
I need to apologize for a few of the posts I have made in the last 72 hours or so. I let a few comments from someone get under my skin, and I should not have. So, I apologize.
I hope that you will look at the fact that I've been a member of this forum for quite a while, and have nearly 600 posts on this board. I've made every effort to help out those who ask questions, as well as post useful information as I have come across it, even posting a comprehensive how-to-guide just last week.
I hope that you will not judge me by a few clearly out-of-character posts from this week-end.
Those of you who have followed my posts on this board know that I am an avid runner. For me, it's even a bigger passion than FTA. I run the Dallas marathon every year. I ruptured my achilles tendon jetskiing last week and found out Friday that I have to have surgery to repair the tendon, and may never be able to do any serious competitive running again.
I know that this in no way excuses the smart-a** tone in the 2 or 3 posts that I made over the week-end. I'm not offering it as an excuse, but I hope it does offer some insite into why all the sudden my posts would take a more acidic tone. I'm in a lot of pain, taking a lot of drugs, and am crushed by the potential loss of my favorite pastime.
I plan on taking a short vacation from posting in the forum, to ensure that I don't offend anyone else. Quite honestly, when I made those posts, I really didn't realize how bad they were, clearly indicating a need to step back for a small time to gain some perspective, or at least until I'm not taking any medication.
Again, I wish to apologize, and ask to not be counted amoung those who do sit on the sidelines and attempt to antagonize at every turn.
Respectfully,
Nathan
