Anyone Had Success At Cascading a DPP44 with a DP34?

I told em to piss off, Jason Nipp keeps PM'ing me trying to defend it. I told them to delete my account as the attached pic will be my last post/visit to dbstalk.

Edit, well that screen cap came out pretty crappy. Let me see if I can clean that up.

Well, the screen cap look fine for me, but looks crappy when uploaded. No biggie. I told them I refuse to say "Heil Dbstalk/avsforum" and honor their rule on not mentioning satguys. Maybe the site should be rename "DBStalinTalk"

Poor Jason over there. He actually seems to be pretty sorry to have to delete my posts. He keeps saying "it's not my decision or policy" etc etc.

As I posted on the other forum, you should replace the DPP Twin with a DP Twin.

Hopefully, Simon or Larry will tell us if you can run 4 Legacy receivers off a DPP44. I thought you needed at least a DP receiver connected to the DPP44 but can't find the thread to back it up.

The DP34 requires at least one DP receiver to power it. The DPP44 has its own power inserter on port 1 so theoretically should be able to run with only legacy receivers. I have never tried this.

[warning: madscientist theoretical discussion]
On the other hand I do remember from my early testing that the DPP44 seemed to work without the inserter with only two connections from DP receivers. So it may be that the power inserter is actually only to cover the situation where no (or only one, I didn't test it with only one) DP receivers are in use.

I can report that my DPP44 will not work without the power inserter. I had a 921, 721, 301 plugged in and forgot the power inserter, no go.
