Anyone else notice that the Voom Channels sound better than dishes other hd???

I have an Onkyo sr602 and I always have to turn up the volume when changeing channels from sd to hd (discovery,tnt,espn,hdnets). I've noticed that the volume and the sound quality is much better on the new voom channels. Is this an issue that dish needs to look in to?????

Yes they seem to compromise some sound levels for bandwidth I guess, but you can hear that as well on Voom channels and the HD news channel is the lowest signal which makes sense.

You will always have to turn up the volume going from SD to HD since most HD is broadcast with DD 5.1, which has a wider dynamic range, thus a lower volume floor for dialog. Then when there's action, it will blow you out of your chair.

Voom's DD 5.1 is very dynamic, especially with their promos.

Yes, in general, the VOOM channels, especially their promo and intro material, have superior 5.1 qualities to the other Dish HD channels. No question. As DarrellP indicated, the effects are best noted at higher volumes.
