Any remote control setting tricks?

When I do the 30 sec skip on the remote with the hd dvr, it would be nice when you hit play (when the show is back on while still skipping)
if the receiver would jump back a few seconds, to reduce the lag between when the show starts and pressing play. Otherwords, when the 30 sec skip is used,
then the show is back on but still skipping, you hit play but too late. You need to RR a few sec to catch the beginning point.
I thought there might be a setting trick on the remote on some hidden setup screen on the receiver to adjust ship features.
I think there were such settings on the old tivo-directv receivers.

There are no settings you can do to change how the receiver reacts once you hit play after using FF. You couldn't on the TiVos either (except for some obscure backdoor setting on earlier untis). One trick that might help is to use "pause" instead of"play" to come out of FF or Rew.
