Unless I'm wrong somewhere, I think that network might be owned by ABC. It's probably that DISH is charged a higher rate for that channel and must pass it own to customers. I'm not sure what the chances are that it would be moved to AT100 and I'm not sure anybody could look through the next year or so and accurately say. It might be that some other network comes and charges a much higher rate and they would place that channel in AT100 to make up for something that had to be moved to AT200 -- but again, I don't really know all the ins-and-outs of how all of this works.
A student that I had went to school with that was from the Toronto area had moved into the house I purchased from my brother last Fall. We immediately subscribed to the AT200 (and SOAPNet was one of the reasons she wanted that decision) on the annual charge. But, I had had a DISH that was moved and had always ordered the NY and LA locals (in addition to Atlanta) as I knew it would give me maximum football options. It wasn't until after we settled down and noticed -- everything she wanted was on AT60 (as it was then). She worked "full-time" at a university but her hours were only 8 - 2 so, by the time she got home, Young and Restless was just starting up and Bold and Beautiful was yet to come (which were the two she really followed -- especially Y&R) on the west coast feeds.
I'm going to make the switch over to AT100 next time my annual charge rolls around. I've already dropped my locals because I now get Atlanta (along with San Francisco) with AllAmericaDirect. I'm also a subscriber to the Encore Movie Pack. She's had to leave -- with a sick mother (cancer) in her hometown of Toronto -- and won't likely be coming back for a while (if she does). Man, the third bedroom of my house still reminds you of Maple Leafs Gardens -- as she left, she said I'm leaving that room as a Maple Leafs shrine and told me to keep the stuff she had purchased to transfer that room -- yes, even the Home Depot paint work and all. I guess if she had been around another year and we had been married and had a kid at some point, he or she would have been a big Maple Leafs fan. I always loved (and still do) the Blue Jays, too. I also liked Patricia -- maybe I'm just a Toronto guy.
I also miss not hearing the English / French mixes that played on Energie 94.3 (a radio station she listed to online). Sometimes, when I'm playing MLB07: The Show (as the Blue Jays, of course) or GTA, I turn it up just for the memory of it.
Anyways, I was REALLY UPSET yesterday when NBC quit carrying the Sabres and Senators after regulation. I don't get VS, so, ugh.....
Anyways, has anybody else noticed the Giants games that are frequently shown on the FOX from SF? Are they simply carrying these as Bonds approches the home run record of is this regular for them?
