Any HD Spotbeams reach North Louisiana?

you can't measure a signal of a spotbeam just a transponder. The signal level you show for 110 tp31 is sufficient to give you a steady picture except in heavy thunderstorms. You should also be good for the SDs from Dallas on 110 tp20. Be happy with that...some in Monroe aren't as lucky

Thanks for your reply. I pushed the reset button on the receiver, ran a check switch...still not showing up. It did download all the new channel stuff but no cbs or nbc mapped down. odd.

And also weird on the OTA dropping at 80 percent. The picture should not be soft. OTA is a little better quality over the SAT locals...your local stations must putting out some garbage HD signals. You wouldnt want them anyways when Shreveport gets HD locals on satellite since they look soft.

Ok, i moved to Dallas online with no problems. Here are the locals in HD

DALLAS ABC-WFAA IN HD 8 6383
DALLAS CBS-KTVT IN HD 11 6384
DALLAS FOX-KDFW IN HD 4 6386
DALLAS NBC-KXAS IN HD 5 6385

The CBS and NBC stations are not showing 'mapped down' in either HD or SD.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

Mine did from the get go, VIP 722 :up by looking soft I tuned in my Toshiba 42 inch LCD via the service minue the HD looks stunning

The OTA HD isn't soft, it's very crisp. But it does drop off and on, i guess as the wind blows. That is the main reason for the move, to have consistent HD signals on the network channels.

The SD local thru Dish is what I was saying is soft.

Monroe has a couple of choices too. You might even have a third on 119 Transponder 9, Birmingham, AL HD locals.

No dice on Birmingham either. I am concerned that I am not really getting the Nashville spot, as Memphis is so much weaker.

Surprised you don't get that one as Monroe is in the footprint on TP 9 on 119.

It's very possible. Take a look at my readings.

One spotbeam (I'm closest to the center bore of this one)
TP 9 - 40 (my own DMA...Baton Rouge)
TP 11 - 48 (Lafayette)

Next over....still in coverage but not as close to full bore as other one
TP 3 - 52 (Mobile, AL)
TP 10 - 36 (New Orleans, LA)
TP 12 - 35 (nothing yet)

As you can see there are big differences in the TP's on the beams sometimes.

That looks like the one.

Nice I figured you'd at least get 40 or so out of it..... 68 is a nice surprise! You might even be in the SD spot coverage on 110 TP 29 for Birmingham. As long as you don't have a 61.5 dish in your setup you'll be good to go.

Update: They all mapped down on the new 722k in the living room. The 622 in the bedroom, however, still just shows the 2 stations.

Thanks Digiblur for the links you posted. What does the green circle and the yellow circle mean? Green would be GREAT and the yellow one NOT SO GREAT?

I have an antenna mounted on my roof to get my locals in HD but it drops out like every 10 minutes. If a gnat flies by and farts it goes out and it's really testing my patience.

Sigh, I just wanna be able to record something without it telling me I've lost signal and missing half the show.

Question: My dish system, I noticed, is set on 500 as there is no setting for 1000.2 unless it is supposed to say Super?

Pay no attention to the pointing parameters on the receiver. If you need to know what they are, go to Satellite Finder / Dish Pointing Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com and select Dish 1000.2 under Multi-LNB.

Sorry I didn't see this post earlier.

I live in Bossier City (this is across the Red River from Mary for others not familiar) but I "Live" in Nashville and get Nashville locals in HD. Have done so for a couple of years.

They are on a CONUS beam on 129. Not sure how much longer they will stay there though.
