Sup Guys!

Im about to install my new 5Lnb Slimeline this weekend and i could REALLY use any advice you guys could offer...videos, photos, links...anything...

I installed the 3lnb by myself by just guessing where the where the satellites where...i didnt use anything to find the signals...but my bros help by letting me know the signal strength. Now this new 5lnb looks much tougher...lol...more complicated...i dont want to be in my ruff and day trying to find all 5 satellites!

Is it possible to install it my self?

Anyhow...i live in Los Angeles...and i have the HR20, if that info helps.

THANKS!!!!

I saved this file from another post about a week ago. Hope this helps out?!?

It's possible, but would be much easier with a meter. Solid Signal has videos of the AT-9 alignment, which is quite similar: (DIRECTV Ku/Ka MPEG-4 Compatible Satellite Dish Installation Videos). Between the videos and the instruction sheet you can probably get there. Doing the dither adjustment might be difficult without a meter, however, so you might try peaking on one of the 103b transponders (assuming you get it close enough to get a response from that satellite).

I know a guy who looked at his neighbor's dish and wrote down the elevation and tilt settings and then assembled his dish with the neighbor's settings. Then he mounted the dish on a pole. He essentially moved the dish left and right until he got the best signal. It may not be peaked, but it worked.

Sounds like what most installers do. :)

Could someone send me the skew setting and the other two settings also for zip code 44047? Thanks in advance. Could you PM me it would save me a lot of time trying to find this post again.

I did mine, pretty easy. I concreted the pole in the ground(make sure its 90 degrees all the way around). Put the slimline together on the ground and set TILT and ELEV on the ground before I stuck it on top of the pole. I just put in my zip in the HD DVR and used the data it gave me.

As far as azimuth goes, i left the slimline pole mount slightly loose and just turned it into the right direction 1/8" at a time until my SS shot up to 90's.
