ANGELS RATED MOST FAN-FRIENDLY FRANCHISE (good alliteration!)

Red Sox fans and Yankee fans have a special relationship that would be impossible to understand from 3,000 miles away. They love to go at it, but there is total respect on both sides. The Dodgers come to the Stadium once every six years (although we'd love to see you in October! :D), so the respect for the fans is not there.

Actually, for the most part, the Dodger fans are not there either!

Sandra
That is no different than what I am talking about. The same is true for the Dodgers and Giants, although Giant fans tend to hate everything about LA in general.

Don't be so quick there, Dodgerking... You gotta go there when Seattle is in town and the guys behind Seattle's dugout are taunting Ichiro or when your Dodgers are in town and the chant fests begin. There's a ton of banter back and forth, then ( the fun kind). When Boston is around people are just on edge and fights are likely in the cheap seats. When certain former Angels with big heads and bad attitudes show up, we put down our lattes long enough to throw stuff at them. On 80's retro night some chump got up and started taunting angel fans and got about 30 minutes worth of pizza boxes and beer bottles chucked at his head out by the right field pole. He finally stood up, turned around and put his hands out to welcome the barrage.. We just don't give a damn about the White Sox.
I guess I haven't been to enough games to make that assessment (I have been to about 20 Angel games). I know when I watch the Angels play the Sox on TV in Anaheim, the Sox fans chant louder than the Angel fans.

That is one thing I've never understood. Enjoying a few adult beverages (or whatever ;)), sure, but why someone would spend good money to attend a sporting event, concert, etc. and be "wasted beyond belief" during it is a mystery to me.
I can say that I and my ChiSox buddy were not among those in the group that were wasted beyond believe. That is why I have such a good recollection of the ribbing and taunting going on. :D

Most of the wasted ones either didn't make it into the stadium (they stayed in the motor home) or they had no clue on what was going on anyway and spent most of the time attempting to walk around.

Then they proceed to tell us exactly what happened and who said what, even though they were wasted beyond belief...

Really? Try reading what I posted before making a snide comment. I never said I was wasted, I said, "Most of us..." Us", was in reference to the whole group of individuals that went to the game together. "Most", was in reference to those that were drinking within the larger group.

Most does mean a majority, correct? You must be proud.;)

Who get's smashed to go to a baseball game? Just wondering. Look, I'm all about tossing down a few dozen brews, but for a baseball game?! Really? Maybe during a pre-game tailgate during a violent, smash-mouth, intense NFL game, but for a nice, even kiel, thinking man sport such as baseball? Honestly, I've never heard of that.

At about $7 a beer, I couldn't afford to get drunk at a baseball game. I prefer to get "faced" at home or private parties, or the corner bar. Anywhere that doesn't require anything more in the way of transportation, than my own two feet.

Well based on this small sample, I rate Dodger fans as the most obnoxious, and Angel fans a fine group of human beings...

Sandra
I have been to a lot of ballparks and stadiums and I agree that the Angels fans are top-notch. I enjoyed myself the two or three times I watched them play the Tigers. As for the Dodger fans being the most obnoxious...you may be correct since I have never been to Dodger Stadium, but I'll put my money on the Phillies fanatics who, along with their Eagles thugs, are the worst baseball-football combo on earth.

Eagles fans are the worst, no doubt about that in my book. I was happy to leave that stadium with my life intact. My experience with "that evil school in the South" runs a very close second.

We went to a bar at about 4, then went to the Big A and tailgated. It is these two places where all of the drinking took place. I only had a few beers over the few hours. They went in wasted, which is why some stayed in the motor home (they were too wasted to be let in).

I heard numerous stories from friends that went to the Eagles-Pats SB in Jax a few years ago. They said with out a doubt, they were the scariest bunch of fans they ever ran across.

BTW, it's Eagles fans in particular, not Philly fans in general. At least that's the perception.

In Philadelphia, where they had to move the bullpen to the lower level because their own fans were razzing the relievers.

In Philadelphia, where they boo Santa Claus.

Flyer fans are bad too. So many are just mad at the world for some reason. Listening to 610 WIP sportsradio is very difficult.

It's all cool DK. At least you looked after your friends. Myself, I'm just not a big fan of drunks at sporting events. I expect them at bars, and I can always move myself away from them, but at sporting events, you're stuck with them. I especially love the ones that spill beer on my back. Like Matt said, I like kick a few back myself, but not to the point where I'm a problem for those around me.

The drunk ones were not the obnoxious ones. It was the sober Sox fan that was doing the taunting. Heck, the drunks ones either didn't make it in or spent most of the time walking around lost. :p

FYI...The entire group consisted of high school teachers and a school psychologists.

For anyone who's interested, here's the link to all of the Team Rankings....
[ame="http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/teamrankings"]Ultimate Team Rankings - All Sports - SportsNation - ESPN[/ame]

The highest Cleveland team.... The Cleveland Cavaliers at #5, which also happens to be the highest ranked NBA team!!!

The lowest, #122: The Los Angeles Clippers, closely followed by #121: The NY Knicks. That fact that the Knicks are ranked the 2nd worst franchise in all of sports might bring those people who think LeBron is coming to save their franchise next year, back down Earth. LMAO!!! :D
