Then you should expect to be in harms way ... not paying attention to the game, anything can happen. Some people just enjoy the ball park atmosphere... heck back in the late 90s I use to do homework at Expos games.

Lol, that didn't helpIt's TRUE ...
When guys are talking at a game, they are at least paying attention to what is going on on the field.
Now Fenway has been there for close to 100 years... and as far as I can tell this is only the 2nd time in that 100 years where anything like this has happened. Now we have people saying Fenway is unsafe and they need nets around the ball park to keep this from happening again the in the future.
It was a FLUKE folks! Stuff happens!
Lets not change the dynamics of the entire game just because of a freak accident.
Probably because it was the quietest place in Montreal at the timeSome people just enjoy the ball park atmosphere... heck back in the late 90s I use to do homework at Expos games.
It worked for Shaq....Maybe they can add a new Bubble Wrap concession to Fenway. Pay $30 and get your body bubble wrapped so you are not hit by broken bats, balls or angry Yankee fans.

The truth hurts
I thought that it was in Columbus, with the girl getting hit in the chest with a puck & dying.Problem is people overact on fluky situations.
Example, the girl who died at a Carolina Hurricanes hockey game. She wasnt paying attention and got a deflected slap shot in the forehead. This has never happened anywhere in the 90+ years of NHL hockey and by the next week every rink had nets up behind the goalie.
Your right ...I thought that it was in Columbus, with the girl getting hit in the chest with a puck & dying.
OMG, I just found out that she got the Hockey tickets as a present ....Your right ...
Brittanie Nichole Cecil (March 20, 1988 – March 18, 2002) was a hockey fan who died from injuries suffered when a puck was deflected into the stands and struck her in the left temple at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, on March 16, 2002. It was the first and currently only fan fatality in the NHL's 85-year history.[1]Because of Brittanie's death, the league implemented mandatory netting at either end of the rink in every stadium at the beginning of the next NHL season in 2002–03 to protect spectators from errant pucks.
