Android transfer app available!

But it's already encrypted...

If the content providers won't play by the rules of elementary logic, maybe we should just abolish copyright altogether and make them work for a living. It's only fair, since the rest of us have to. Also, if I wanted to live in a country that allows laws to be written on the basis of mysticism, there are plenty of them left that I could move to.

Update works great!

I have the same problem with storage on my phone as some of you. I think SD storage will be difficult with Android due to differences in software across the ecosystem. Google is trying to eliminate SD storage (like on their Nexus phones) and have gone away from totally supporting in the past year or two.

I hope that it could be an option, but if not I need an excuse to upgrade my phone anyways.

Maybe the reason why the SD storage isn't an option is because of copyright protection or something along those lines.
This is what I am hearing. The programmers don't want DISH to allow the programs stored on the phones removable storage. I was told before this was one of the reasons why the app was held up since it was shown this summer.

This app is so far advanced from the first few builds. It is really a top knotch app and this seems to work great im watching Duck Dynasty now testing it.

Yes, the files are encrypted (I can see them on the phone). There are many ways to add storage even w/o an internal SD card. There's USB-OTG and wi-fi storage expanders. Dish lets us use Encrypted external Hard Drives, this shouldn't be any different.

Updated the new app the other day and transfered a show and aside from haveing trouble getting the reciever online (which was never a problem before) all went well. Then I transfered a movie and it was almost finished when I went to bed. The next morning notification on my galaxy note 2 said it finished but now the movie is gone from the dvr and nowhere to be found on my phone. Did a few more transfers of some tv shows and had fits with waiting for reciever to come online. Had to reset network, worked one time, next time wouldn't come online so reset router, then unpluged reciever and replug and let boot up. Finnaly back on line and made the transfere. I just don't understand what the problem is with the reciever comming online, never had this before with dish anywhere and all the while the reciever shows it is online.

What would happen if you deleted the directory that it stores the files in and replaced it with a link to another storage device? There's got to be some way to do that...

I posted about this earlier, but my post was deleted. I guess it was felt to be hacking.

Well fooey. If adding a link to your phone is hacking, then IMHO this is the good kind of hacking; bringing features to your device that the vendor is too lazy or stupid to bring out themselves.

I had a pretty similar glitch and resolved it by deleting all data from the app & then uninstalling via the phone - (not, via Play Store). Followed by rebooting phone, reinstalling app and rebooting HWS before initially opening newly installed app to log in. For whatever reason, solved my problem with intermittent issues of the app not *seeing* the Internet connection. Now seems as reliable as the prior version.

Took a couple of tries & had to uninstall, reinstall, etc, but it seems to be working now - transferred a Def Leppard concert from AXS no problem & this time it DOES playback. Works great on Nook HD+, only negative is can't specify where to transfer - need to be able to use the sd storage or I'm going to have to reorganize & delete some apps.

Did you get the app for the nook from the app store or did you have to "side load" it?

So I loaded 3.1.16 on my kindle fire and the 3 tabs on the bottom are Guide, DVR and settings. No option for On Demand or My Transfers. Any thoughts on what is up?

Side loaded? If the Kindle isn't supported yet that might be why you are missing those tabs. Other people have reported this in the past on different Android devices.
Yup, side loaded. It has the same functionality as the prior versions so I am no worse off. I am not positive what version of Android OS the original Kindle Fire is using and what the minimum requirement for transfers is, anyone know?
