Well I thought I was pretty clear with the tone of my message.
Honestly!?! No offense, but it really wasn't so clear. Sorry.

My thoughts exactly. I was trying to determine which type you were - sarcastic or ignorant. Both types of people exist, and are common in forums. You can't always tell by reading an isolated post. I couldn't.Well, if my response wasn't sarcasm, it would sound like it was coming from a really stupid person.
Well, if my response wasn't sarcasm, it would sound like it was coming from a really stupid person. It is sad that we have gotten so low in this world that you can't tell if somebody is being serious or sarcastic. (people are stupid) Just the point alone that they just came out with the 722 alone, and the idea that it will cease functioning in 2009 alone should have given me away... not to analyze the rest.
Sorry.
wow, All I said was that it didn't come off the way you intended and you go on a rant and call me and at least more than a couple people here stupid? Well, I have a few things to call you, but I can't do it here, but swing by the pit and...
Might be time to climb off that high horse of yours before you get bucked off pal! You aren't coming off as sarcastic, just as an a-hole!
If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...Well, if my response wasn't sarcasm, it would sound like it was coming from a really stupid person.
There is no evidence to suggest either way. The CATV companies reportedly haven't even been able to convince the FCC to let them down-convert, but that edict may or may not apply to satellite. When all broadcasts have to be digital does that mean that D and E will be sending HD locals to everyone with a HD receiver or will they down convert them to SD and leave people with HD receivers that don't get HD locals from them now without HD locals after the change over?

You learned a valuable lesson.
TV stations will most likely continue to broadcast (2) signals, one in SD and one in HD (at times). When all broadcasts have to be digital does that mean that D and E will be sending HD locals to everyone with a HD receiver or will they down convert them to SD and leave people with HD receivers that don't get HD locals from them now without HD locals after the change over?

As time goes on, I think you'll see a whole lot more letterboxed content in SD as a gentle nudge. Maybe someone will invent squish-o-vision. It will certainly take a lot of pressure off of that lady with the thyroid problem.
The conversion to 16:9 televisions is coming along nicely and once they cut the prices by about 60%, I think you'll see a lot of people jumping on board.
No one seems to have asked this question. When all broadcasts have to be digital does that mean that D and E will be sending HD locals to everyone with a HD receiver or will they down convert them to SD and leave people with HD receivers that don't get HD locals from them now without HD locals after the change over? I think that if HD signals are supplied to them from the locals that they should be required to pass them along to their subscribers that have HD receivers.
That is what Russell is pointing out. What will they do? Will they take widescreen content from the HD channel and letterbox it, or will they pull the Fox stunt and crop the sides off?Just because the signal is digital does not mean it is HD.
ATSC standards for broadcast television do not include "ED".Digital is SD, ED and HD.
