Ah yes, remember those radios that came with reception of TV audio from Channels 2 - 13? Radio Shack had some portables that included the TV audio band, then the digital transition made that useless.

Of course in many cities there are low powered channel6 TV stations that are really radio stations. they broadcast things like an endless loop of silent movie clips and use the audio (anfdit can be picked up on many radios) to runa radio station. in DC iti is a spanish language station that usually transmits music but is also the spanish outlet fro the MLS games.

Basically its the radio station with the national weather service radar. KXKW-LP Lafayette. 88.7 FM and the NOAA out of Lake Charles. Hey when Carencro''s Football season begins you can get the games clear while watching the radar los Iosing your mind.

I think these are IFB (Interrupted Feedback) communications frequencies. If you Google Television IFB that'll give you an idea. Used for remote broadcasts, teleprompting, comms back to the studio, etc. Interesting that these can be picked up so far away from the studio.

More IFB frequencies found, heard some banter between the reporter and the studio. I wonder if the Traffic Copters use these for comms....
