America's Got Talent Season 6 (2011)

Eliminated acts that I would like to see in the Top 10:
Frank Olivier (classic)
Brian Andreas (didn't see enough of him)
Frank Miles (this guy was dangerous, funny and entertaining)
Mauricio Herrera (one man's syrup is another man's ipecac)

My 2011 AGT All*Stars:
Primitivo Montoya (always enjoy watching a guy take stage dive facial)
Metatron (stage dive facial wannabe)
Sam B (fat man dancing while having a heart attack)
Geechy Guy (funny and creepy)

Steven Retchless - getting old, and the additional pole dancers and dancers didn't help. He's gone.

Smage Brothers - great stuff but, I have to be honest, motocross stunts just don't play as well on such a small stage. They will need some help.

I'm really behind... I'm assuming you were critiquing Fatally Unique and not West Springfield although I could see how you could be confused. I actually prefer WSDT over FU.

Kinetic King was cool to see but another "I really would neer pay to see that" thing...
Fatally Unique was ok but nothing special.
Land Swank... Box 2 was rocking from him moving into in from the rafters before it started.... Boxes 1, 3, and 4 were sitting still. Another sh!tty attempt at an illusion.
Gymkana - Wasn't a great act before the screw up, was really not a good act after the screwup.
Summerland Skippers - Seems like now everyone is going for the goth appeal? Jump roping to Brittney Spears with what looked like the playground scene in Terminator 2 didn't work for me. Plus another mess up.
Snap Boogie - Started off too slow for my liking... Then it wasn't nearly as good as the other performances he had. Plus the song that I know from Happy Feet didn't help with me picturing him as a penguin.
Anna Graceman - Much better than the opera singer last week... definitely looks like an outfit my 7 yr old would pick out... way out there. Still I thought she sounded very good.

Steven Wretchless - A bad overall performance. The one girl with him was terrible and kept getting herself tangled up. He just wasn't on his A game.
Smadgie Brothers - Thought it was a very good performance. No messups (a small stutter on the final stunt) and the backflip was cool.
Professor Splash - not an act.... Unless he hits his head on the side of the pool in which case it becomes something worth seeing....
Landau Eugene Murphy - a one trick pony.... he's a descent Sinatra singer but how big of an audience is that?

Professor Splash - I think he made a big mistake by not diving into the 12-inch pool...so I agree with the judges. He may have had a chance to move through with the weak performances we've seen tonight, but not after the lukewarm judges comments. I think he's finished.

Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. was not great, but his performance was good and very entertaining. Plus, who would have thought anyone would enjoy hearing him singing like crooner Frank Sinatra - visual confusing, but certainly memorable. He's moving on to the Top 10.

Silhouettes - My favorite act in the entire show... I felt they missed the mark tonight. A painful start underneath of the sheet and I'm not sure what their act was..... I think they may be done.

I couldn't even come up with a top 5 based on mistakes and poor performances...
1 - Smadgie Brothers
2 - Anna Graceman
3 - Landau (I'm not a fan at all... but he was one of the best acts on a poor field)
4 - Silhouettes (I'd imagine they get the judges pick if the fall to 5)
5 - Snap Boogie or Kinetic King... though it's a tossup

I agree...I just saw it and it wasn't nearly as good as their previous acts, but it was "good" and there is no way they don't get voted through to the Top 10.

Yeah... my comment was before I reviewed the 12 acts from tonight... in a good semi final they'd be gone.... in this years mediocrity, they're fine.

The Kinetic King - Again fun but really how do you go beyond 2 minutes?
Fatally Unique - Ok but not as impressed. I think it was a mistake to look too much like West Springfield
Landon Swank - I think he is really good, but I think his problem is that he is not flashy enough for the home audience
Gymkana - What a disappointment, I like their first performance, but this was so repetative
Summerwind Skippers - I have liked them, they were unique, but too bad they messed up a couple times
Snap Boogie - Wow he was so sloppy, looked terrible
Anna Graceman - not bad, song choice did not really jive with me
Steven Retchless - Too much heavy breathing... But really act seemed too slow, adding 5 women did help
Smage Brothers - I liked it, but too confined space
Professor Splash - Same trick too many times
Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. - Ho hum performance, not his best song
Silhoettes - Nice performance, not their best, but good enough

Only ones I would like to see go through:
Silhoettes - but really because of past performances
Landon Swank - he is a good magician, but next time he had better do something spectacular

The other three could be filler.

Man, I was so disappointed with this show! Not ONE of the acts impressed me EXCEPT the Smage Bros. I was expecting something better from Silhouette and I have yet to hear Mr, Murphy (whose acts I like) has yet to sing a song 100% on key.

The magician's trick was just that! I want to see an ISO on his dad to see the signals he sent when he "checked to make sure the wires weren't crossed. OLDEST TRICK IN THE BOOK done by every mind-reader cheat. NOT impressive. I was yelling at the judges for being so STUPID

My problem wasn't the obvious it was the technique. After they picked numbers and the "signal" was sent they cut up to the boxes. Box one twitched a bit and then box two violently shook for about 30 seconds. It was obvious he climbed across and in.

I think we all expected a much better show; almost all performances were disappointing. It just goes to show how shallow the talent pool is this year compared to last season. And the judges continually spouting how "this is the most talented field in AGT history" doesn't make it true - it just makes 'em sound desperate. Personally, I think Professor Splash did a belly-flop into the talent pool.

Regardless, here are my predictions for this evening:

Advancing to Top 10: (in no particular order)
Anna Graceman - judges loved the performance (I thought it was Okay) but she easily advances.
Silhouettes - not as good as their prior acts but they advance without a hitch.
Smage Brothers - I think they move forward but who knows.
Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. - our of tune at times, I agree, but he'll be voted through.

Toss-up for the 5th Spot: (too close to call)
Kinetic King - best shot based on the judges practically Woo Hoo'ing viewers to vote for him.
Snap Boogie - I thought he was a shoe-in...until his lackluster performance.
Professor Splash - great showmanship but last night was not his best performance.

Packing Bags:
Steven Retchless - he will be sliding down the pole this evening.
Fatally Unique - mistake doing the Thriller/WSDT material.
Gymkana - went down in flames...literally.
Landon Swank - much better illusionists didn't crack Top 10 in prior years.
Summerwind Skippers - the Top 10 proves to be more than a hop, skip and jump away.

You're right! I watched it again early this morning and noticed box #2 shaking longer and harder than my house did during last weeks earthquake...and I'm 30-miles from the epicenter. What I had a problem with is that his "trick" was no different than what Frank Miles did when he placed a bowie knife into 1 of 4 styrofoam coolers and them did a back on flip onto them. Heck, it's not easy body slamming yourself three times onto the stage. Also, where were the "High Explosives" with this dangerous stunt? I was expecting these crates to be blown into kindling wood yet the "explosion" was little more than a firecracker pop.

El Stinko! I don't know how the judges could see this as being "Amazing" as Howie mentioned. :facepalm

Here is how Landon Swank's act should have been done (and Frank Miles isn't a magician)
